Keeping Up With Stuff - January 2011
Sunday afternoon got taken up with Can-Con planning, and one consequence of that is something I've announced elsewhere:
can_con_news is now live, and as soon as my co-moderators get their invites accepted, we can get moving on further announcements re: the convention as they're cleared for release. Which is good.
Getting home again reminded me of why it's hard to be a suburban resident of Ottawa trying to build and maintain a life outside of "commuters' hours" using public transit. Buses after 6 PM on Sundays tend to run on reduced schedules. If you don't live close enough to a core or Transitway route? You've got problems. Many routes after that 6 PM timeframe run either on a half-hourly or hourly basis. It's something we keep trying to fix. Please wish us good luck with that.
We've had a cold snap Monday, which made for solid motivation to get as much walking for exercise done as quickly as possible. And tomorrow we might get freezing rain, which would vex as far as getting to and from writing workshop Tuesday night.
