I looked in the mirror last night...

...and I've started seeing not my face, but my father's.

It's a weird feeling, huh? When I graduated from teachers' college, I had my hair up and more conservative makeup than I normally wear, and I looked exactly like my grandmother did as a young woman.

I've started to do that too- look like my father, except it's on;y the lower half of my face. The rest still looks like my French grandmother on the other side.

But we had a theory, back in the 80s, that people are attracted to someone who looks like them, so possibly there's a reason the same features turn up.

I kind of know what you mean. While I don't see my father's, I've seen my face change recently.

A few years back I relooked at a photo of my Dad, my Sister, and I sitting on a bench. Dad would have been into his 80's by then. I finally saw the family resemblance. Shudder

It's kinda a spooky bittersweet experience.

About 5 years ago, I was waiting at a bus stop, and turned and saw a woman, and burst out "Grama!" before even thinking. Yes, it was me reflected.

I got a serious shock the first time I looked in the mirror and saw my mother's face. I've sort of gotten used to it.

I've got it better than my brother who looks a bit like my dad... bald and all. *chortle*
