New spin, old bus style...

Spotted this over the long weekend on the McKenzie King Bridge, and considering how new and how few of this particular model there are in the OC Transpo fleet right now...well, it made sense at the time and still does now.

Pleased to report that I had my first ride on one of these babies after work today whilst en route to the National Capital Freenet Reunion Party in Lincoln Fields. Smooth ride, nice set up on the "ground floor". I'm only sorry I didn't try out the "second floor" of the bus, but hopefully that will happen with the next ride.

Also hoping to have my camera along for the occasion...

Ooooh. There are tons of these in Victoria, and I love them. They are so comfortable, and the second floor is so incredibly quiet

If you do plan to ride on the second floor, better take some shin pads. In England, the drivers do *not* till you are clear of the stairs before pulling away from the curb. I lost count of how many times I barked my shins on the stairs -- OUCH.
