Mid-February 2011 Notes

One week into what's turned from a six-month gig into five months. Paperwork snafu explaining that shrinkage, and that's all I want to say on that subject. Things could still change for better or for worse, after all.

Nights...I want to get back to drawing space opera project pages this weekend and in the week to come. Been promising myself this for ages, and trying to figure out the ways and means of laying out the next page or two. You'd think it was a simple enough thing, but it never is.

CAN-CON preparations and guest/panelist recruitment also continues apace, which is good. Keep an eye on either [livejournal.com profile] ottawa_sf or [livejournal.com profile] can_con_news for more info as the executive clears its release.

For anyone in the neighbourhood who's interested: I'll be down at Confederation Park at around noon today for the start of a walking tour of the Ottawa Flickr group. Photography skills need regular practice or they get rusty, just like the drawing skill set...or indeed, any other skill set!

More on other stuff as any of us thinks of it...and over to you, everyone!

(Ten hours, fifteen minutes' daylight today.)

More bits of stuff

I've since heard that C-474 - AKA the Seeds Regulation Act - got voted down in the House of Commons. A shame about that. But then, I am a grandchild of farmers.

CBC's watching the aftermath of the Mubarak Resignation live:

Another disappointment re: wind farms in Ontario herein:

Seems like the battle to contain civilization continues, doesn't it?

More in a bit on other stuff...
