Quoth the report by CBC News Kitchener-Waterloo's Jackie Sharkey:
"Organizers of a fledgling theatre festival with more than 40 events in March across Kitchener and Waterloo say they're having a hard time getting the word out after Facebook blocked the festival's ads on its platforms.
The social network, which also owns Instagram, said Pat the Dog Theatre Creation wasn't authorized to run its ad for the Femme Folks Fest.
The automated message goes on to say Facebook "requires people to complete an ID confirmation to run ads about social issues, elections or politics.""
Meanwhile, I'm listening to a report on Spark dealing with censorship and walling-off as it's being done to the larger global internet by national governments, corporate bosses, etc. right now.
In Brasil, we see another sort of madness: protests against democracy.
