All the Triangle systems from FASATrek are matched up to host stars. There's a couple of neutron stars or singularities or what have you left to decide "altitudes" on the Z-axis for, but that's it for the most part. Maybe I end up adding in things from some of the video games?

All but three of the Triangle region star systems from FASATrek now have host stars matched to them for Edge of Midnight purposes. The remaining three are ~~Stork's Rest, Altharra and Passarra's Dream~~.

Art: Digging Up Some of the Past

I just finished scanning a batch of old Local Hero pages into my current primary computer. Twenty years onward, and it's as if the technology and its affordability finally caught up to the needs I have for it. I'm planning to continue digitally inking the better-pencilled pages as time allows over the next weeks to months.

Day of Rest

Of course, I haven't really rested today. The following things got done today:

- vacuumed two floors of the house
- picked out stars to host a half-dozen or so planets on that Edge of Midnight map project
- did two walking/shopping trips mainly for exercise
- practiced a bit more for Clip Studio Paint via the Cintiq tablet/monitor
- uploaded a scan of a sketch I drew for my Amateur Press Alliance back in 2006 to various social media outlets for the sake of self-promotion and because of Batman Day
- cleaned up some of my kitchen mess
- applied for another job
- cleaned my CPAP gear, as I need to do each weekend
- wrote a note of comment to the Ottawa Board of Health about protection measures against SARS-CoV-2 and other contagions of note and worry

I'd like to get a new "office/studio" chair, but barring some surprise via trashnothing.com, that's probably not going to happen soon. The one I use currently leans a bit to my right because of years of my leaning to that side when I sit down in it. Also, it deflates an inch after a certain amount of time sitting down.

Okay, so I've been having fun reading this serialised Star Trek-linked fan-fiction dressed up as a history book called Edge of Midnight by John Concagh AKA "Seamus Devenish". So much so that I've started working on a "base map" to show his version of the affected regions of the Federation-Klingon border.

If you're interested in keeping an eye on my progress and you're not already on the relevant Discord or Facebook pages, I've got a thread running over at the Affinity forums, since Affinity Designer is what I'm using for this project.

I managed to last about 20-30 minutes. I wasn't able to cover the animation side of CSP's toolkit because I don't use those parts. (I know that others do, and I'd like to find a Mac user somewhere in Ottawa who does for the next time.)

I know I didn't cover more than a fraction of what that software is capable of in that twenty minutes. There are hundreds - thousands? - of tutorials in static web-page and video formats to take one into more depth. These are being created and updated even now. I need to set aside time to practice with CSP regularly.

The need to pay my bills ASAP is cutting into time I could be spending on learning to be a better artist/designer/illustrator and earning an honest living from those skills.

I finally drew things again tonight after supper. It's been weeks-to-months since I did that, either pencil/ink on paper or digitally. I need to get back to that. More often, more regularly.

The cold snap is over. Now we'll be back to bouncing back and forth across the freezing point.
